VAT Calculator
Add or remove VAT for the UK, any EU country, or a custom rate — using 2026 standard VAT rates.
How VAT works
Value Added Tax is a consumption tax charged at each stage of production, ultimately paid by the end consumer. To add VAT to a net price, multiply by (1 + rate). To work backwards from a VAT-inclusive price to find the net amount, divide by (1 + rate).
Rates shown are each country's 2026 standard VAT rate. Many countries also apply reduced rates to specific goods and services (food, books, energy, etc.) — this calculator uses the standard rate only. Source: Tax Foundation, "VAT Rates in Europe, 2026."
This calculator provides estimates only and is not financial or tax advice. VAT rates and rules change and vary by product category - always confirm the current rate that applies to you with a qualified accountant or your country's tax authority before making a decision.
